Colonial Williamsburg Scenes

We arrived Tuesday night and the next day went to Colonial Williamsburg to see if anything had changed. Nope, it still looked pretty much the same. The leaves were in the final stages of deserting their trees and it was nice and sunny, so I took a couple photos.

Lorri had some fun talking to the horses. I didn't hear them talking back. Maybe they were whispering. Maybe they were horse whisperers!

On the left is the guy that tends the garden along Duke of Gloucester Street. It doesn't sound very exciting, but it is sort of interesting to see how he coaxes things to grow in the late fall without using any pesticides, machinery or any other modern stuff. On the right is the George Wythe house. He's the guy that taught Thomas Jefferson about law.

Bob's Birthday Party

On Friday night we had a little surprise party for Bob. I don't think he was so surprised about he party but he was surprised to see Edna and Mike, who had driven down from Philadelphia earlier to join the celebration. On the left is Deb, Malarie, Bob and Jake who is flaunting his University of Michigan shirt. It seems every time I turned around he had that thing on and when he wasn't wearing it, I caught Malarie wearing a couple times.

Because he's Bob, that's why! Jake joins the older boys in a toast to Bob for his birthday. I'm pretty sure Jake was only drinking soda...
