Road Trip 8 Statistics

For all you numbers geeks here are some statistics to chew on.

We spent over $2300 on gas and got around 13 MPG. We paid a low of $3.189 for gas in South Carolina and a high of $4.559 in Chico, CA (of course). We drove over 8,000 miles and camped in 16 different places.

We spent four nights in hotels or motels, two nights at Lorri's parents in St. Louis and were in Williamsburg for almost eight weeks, except for a trip to Baltimore and my jaunt to Penn State (I rented a car for that trip).

We drove for almost 950 miles in Texas and 1113 in California (including coming and going) and only 84 miles in Mississippi. Surprisingly, we drove 524 miles in Florida even though we only went across the northern panhandle.

	Notes:

	The odometer is in error by approximately 3 miles per 100 miles driven.
	Actual total miles was probably around 8170, meaning that mpg was more
	like 12.86.

	Gas mileage heading east was better than heading west. I think this has to
	do with prevailing winds blowing west to east, with especially strong headwinds
	as we headed west through KS, CO, WY and UT
