Welcome to Superstork 2010, the continuing adventures of Jack & Lorri as they strive to survive the retirement lifestyle of the not-so-rich and not-so-famous (would you believe poor and obscure?). Last year was to be our "Year of Living Frugally". Well, that didn't work out so well. I think we better pick something easier this year. I know! This year will be the year of the photograph! We got a new Nikon DSLR camera for Christmas and have been taking lots of photos. In fact, just yesterday I took this photo from the "D" Street Overlook here in sunny Encinitas.

I know, I know, hard to believe but it's true! I was pointing my camera with the 200 mm zoom fully zoomed and the thing just jumped out of the water. A moment later, the same thing happened again.

So I figure this is a sign that I should take more photos. What's that you say? How about "better" instead of "more"? I hear you. My New Year's resolution (one of them) is to become a better photographer. So get ready for more and better photos. By the end of the year, I expect to be world-famous and this site will probably be getting millions of hits a day! Then I'll look back to this moment when my "point and shoot" days came to an end and my "carefully select scenes, frame the subject, adjust the exposure, focus hocus pocus" days began.
