Superstork 2017
Penn State was invited to Play Washington in the Fiesta Bowl!

Phoenix is about a six hour drive from Encinitas and we were able to get tickets, so, what the heck? We went!

Here I am pumping gas at a station in Arizona where the gas is about a dollar cheaper than CA. Why is that?

Approaching Gila Bend where we leave I-8 and go north to I-10 and Phoenix on 85. Make sure to go north or you could end up in Mexico!

The stadium from the car window on the 101 Loop

The social media called for a white-out so we drove our white car and wore our white shirts

We don't have the van anymore but we did transfer the PSU plates to my new vehicle.

We're ready!

Walking to the "FanFest" admission to which was included in the ticket price.

It was a beautiful day in the Valley of the Sun

As it turns out the FanFest was a good opportunity for various vendors to make a lot of money on unsuspecting fans.

It was fun, though, with many more Penn Staters than Huskies fans

We had a couple beers and killed some time checking things out

Taking selfies

Getting caught up in pre-game festivities

The stadium looks like it just landed from an alien planet.

The Blue Band performed

And so did the cheerleaders and baton people.

Tito's anyone!

In Arizona, in some public places, a person can actually enjoy a cigar. Imagine that!

OK, time to go check out our seats.

The interior of the stadium is impressive

It has a retractable roof and a removable field!

The "PSU" formation

This is the view from our seats. Not too bad.

Here we go Lions!

Heading down for a first half score.

We got our tickets directly from the Fiesta Bowl people but most of the fans in our section were Penn Staters.

It looked like it would be easy in the beginning, but in the end, I think the Nittany Nation was happy to escape with the win.

And so we found our car (after a 15 minute search) and happily headed back to our hotel. We won! Time to celebrate!
