Tired Legs Cache - GC3A24

Lake Poway Trail - GC4D3C

July 18, 2002

Time again for my weekly hike so I thought I would re-visit Mount Woodson but before I left I checked Geocaching.com to see what caches had been placed in the area since the last time I was out there. As it turns out there were two! So instead of the strenuous trek up Mount Woodson, I decided to try to bag the two Caches and do the Poway Lake Loop.

First, the Tired Legs Cache, so named because of it's location atop one of the small "mountains" around Lake Poway. The trail was a little steep and slippery in places but it wasn't a very long hike so it wasn't too bad. Once on top, the cache was easy to find.

This is the GPS Track and Profile of today's hike, just a little over 4 miles long. The "003" waypoint is the parking lot at the City Park at Lake Poway, where I started and finished. The little excursion to the north swings by the campground and I turned around where the trail joins the main east-west trail in Blue Sky Reserve.

The Cache; The Cache Contents; My GPS showing "2ft Dist to Next" which means that the Cache coordinates were 2 feet from where the GPS was sitting, which was right on top of the Cache hiding place. You can't get any closer than that.

Me with the Cache and a view toward Mt. Woodson. It was a hazy day so the views were limited.

The Campground was empty and very quiet and shady.
