Leaving Miami

After a few minor snafus at the hotel and the port we boarded ship, found our cabin and an adult beverage, not necessarily in that order. Our cabin was on deck 7 and had a nice sitting area and a balcony. As usual, you can click on the thumbnail for a larger version of the photo.

These give an idea of the size of the room. The one on the left was taken from the balcony. Once the dust settles, the next big event is the safety drill. Life jackets must be donned and you must report to your muster station.

Here we are in full regalia. That was so much fun!

The port of Miami has a similar architectural style as the San Diego Convention Center, but it is not quite so well done. The photos below were taken from our balcony before departure. The ship is the Voyager of the Seas which left just before we did.

It was a nice day in Miami when we left. Below is a photo of Lorri with Miami in the background taken from the top deck. You can see the top of the sail-like structure of the port building. The night photo was taken as we left the harbor looking back at the skyline.
