Curacao

40 J&L & welcome sign.JPG (60772 bytes)

On Curacao we probably had the best day weather-wise of the trip. We took a cab to the "Seaqaurium Beach" which was a nice protected beach with a few shops, restaurants, bars and topless sun-bathers. I didn't get any photos of the sun-bathers but here are the ones I did get.

On the left if you look closely, you can see me on the circular jetty that served to protect the beach. In the middle you can see Lorri and one of the beach bars in the background. On the right is Lorri too and if you look real close, you can see our ship off in the distance just above Lorri's left um... bathing suit top.

27 L & shopping st.JPG (86330 bytes)  32 blue bldg w boat.JPG (54277 bytes)  33 yellow 7 blue bldgs.JPG (84937 bytes)  34 umbrella 7 bldgs.JPG (75931 bytes)

36 bldgs of punda.JPG (62717 bytes)  37 Punda from other side.JPG (71363 bytes)

After leaving the beach we, guess what? We went shopping! All the above photos are of the Punda shopping district which is part of Willimstad, Curacao. Lorri is in the first one. I took the rest of them just because I thought the buildings and colors were picturesque.

38 L w ship.JPG (75420 bytes)  39 stone people.JPG (80639 bytes)  41 view from ship w fort.JPG (82937 bytes)

That's Lorri and our ship on the left. In the middle are the stone people of Curacao. I though they got stoned in Jamaica, but this takes the cake! On the right is Fort Amsterdam with the city in the background.
