September 9 & 10, Put-in-Bay (yes that's the name of the town), South Bass Island, in Lake Erie, near Port Clinton Ohio. We saw these islands on the map, and a couple of them contained State Parks with camping, so we took the short ferry ride to South Bass. We were pleasantly surprised! The town is a great little tourist place with lots of pubs, restaurants and shops. The campground was nice and it happens that the battle of Lake Erie was waged a few miles offshore. Admiral Perry defeated the British fleet on September 10, 1913, exactly 189 years before we got there.

One of the many wineries that dot the islands and this part of Ohio. We bought some wine here and it was not too bad!
