Note regarding Texas and Oklahoma:
We
left I-40 at Tucumcari in New Mexico and went northeast on US 54 across the
northern panhandle of Texas and Oklahoma’s western panhandle, on up into
Kansas. We saw cows, steers, cows, cows and more cows. Smelled ‘em too, all
the way to Dodge. The cattle industry is alive and well in this neck of the
woods. In fact, there aren’t any woods, only cows.
I'm
sorry to report that I have neither photos no winery visits to report on
from TX and OK at this point. I know for sure that Texas has a thriving wine
industry (I've been to the Texas wine-tasting bar in Dallas/Ft. Worth
Airport) but I'm not so sure about Oklahoma. Hopefully we'll be able to
revisit these two states on our return trip. If not, oh well...
