This is our campsite at Pomme de Terre Lake State Park,
near Hermitage, MO. Who would name a lake after a French potato?

Apparently early explorers found a potato-like plant
growing wild on the banks of the creek that feeds the lake and apparently
the early explorers were French.

Here I am with beautiful Pomme de Terre Lake in the
background. The camp ground was nearly deserted.
Wine Stop!

This is the billboard for our first Missouri winery, St
James.

Lorri is standing in front of the St. James Winery where
they make about 50 different kinds of wine.

You can taste all of them if you dare! You just pour
yourself a little cupful and swig away. Here is Lorri with our lovely
hostess.
Another Wine Stop!

A little way down the road from St. James was the Meramec
Vineyards Winery where we sampled some more fine MO wines.

Here am I, getting ready to invade the tasting room.

And these are some of Meramec's finest!
Lorri's Parents House

Besides wineries, Missouri is also the home of Jack &
Delores Vierling, Lorri's parents. We stopped at their new home for a nice
visit and a chance for Lorri to do some laundry.

Here is the happy family!

A look down the street.
