Wine Stop!
Well we finally left Cleveland on Tuesday and drove south
in search of a place to sample some fine fruit of the Ohio vines.

Our quest soon led us to Breitenbach Amish Country Wines.
I found this a little incongruous. Amish and wine didn't seem like they
should be in the same sentence.

However we were soon to be informed by Laura, our little
former Amish girl hostess, that the Amish are famous for drinking, smoking,
drugs, partying (especially out in some Amish farmer's field) and
continuously carrying on.

Looks like they have plenty of barrels ready for next
year's parties!

And it looks like they have the delivery system in place to
get their product around to all the local Amish farms. I suppose they use
the front-end loader to cart off those that have over-indulged.
Another Wine Stop!

Just down the street a little way was the Swiss Heritage
Winery located at the Broad Run Cheesehouse.

We didn't ask if the Swiss people in the area carry on in
the same way as the local Amish, but we enjoyed their wines and sampled a
little cheese.

Award-winning cheese, I might add. It was very good.
After another tough day of wine and cheese-tasting we
settled down at Wolf Run State Park, somewhere 50 or 60 miles south of
Akron, OH.

It was quit and peaceful and nearly deserted.

We opted for a spot on the lake.

Here is the lake and that's me catching tonight's dinner.
Just kidding.
The next morning we continued south along I-77 stopping
at the town of Marietta on the mighty Ohio River.

This is the old lock master's house.

This is an old paddle-wheeler turned restaurant.

This is the restaurant.

This is the river

This is the town.
That's it for Ohio!
