Back in Williamsburg, we spent more time in the HA of CW
(the Historical Area of Colonial Williamsburg, for you uninitiated)

This is an 18th century surveyor (the costumed people call
themselves "interpreters") discussing the finer points of surveying and
mapping in Colonial Virgina.

Here I am helping him out. You can see all the people in
the background admiring my surveyor skills.

us semi-locals) Street

A carriage and horses add to the ambiance.
Jon & Elise Hammond drove all the way from Cleveland to
join us for a weekend of wine-tasting and sight seeing.

On Friday we went to Jamestown, the soon-to-be 400
year-old settlement on the James River, a few miles south of the Burg.

You may have heard of Jamestown Glass. It's world-famous.
This is where it is made.

That bright spot is about a zillion degrees hot.

The next day it was back to the HA.

The spring flowers were still going strong

This photo of James Shields, the curmudgeon proprietor of
Shields Tavern, home of The Rummer, is a little out of focus, as he seemed
to be.
On Saturday night, we were joined by Debbie...

We tasted a lot more wine and then....

People started dancing!

Then we got tired and sat down.

It was a great weekend!
Next day we visited the Williamsburg Inn, a fancy place.
This is the back of it.
