Hike Day. Took a quick Hike up Iron Mountain (and back down). Nice day! Good hike. Left for S. Carlsbad State Beach in the afternoon for a two-night vacation. |
Wednesday: Five miles aerobic |
Beautiful day at the beach! Ran down Carlsbad Blvd. into Leucadia across to the beach at Leucadia Blvd, up the beach back to our home away from home. It was a great five mile run. |
Thursday: 6 mile Fartlek day. (8 x 2 minutes hard with 2 minutes rest) |
I Fartlekked at scenic Lake Miramar again. Six miles total punctuated by 8 1/4 mile "dashes". |
Friday: OFF! Is it St. Patrick's Day yet? How about a Guiness? |
Golf tournament at Mt. Woodson!!! Played terribly, drank beer all day, added a shot of Old Bushmills and a martini. Ate pizza for dinner. I don't think this is the recommended way to prepare for running 14 miles the next day, but it was fun! |
Saturday: Team Run: 14 miles in Penasquitos Canyon! Note to self: Bring water and food. Run slow. Don't trip. |
Excellent run from the parking lot off Sorrento Valley Road through the Canyon all the way to Black Mountain Road and then some. The hills at the west end were challenging, especially on the way back as it started to rain. Got an outstanding purple & green TNT warm-up jacket for passing the minimum fund-raising amount! Go Team! |
