Pacific Beach - As a generous and thoughtful Christmas present, I gave Lorri a gift certificate good for two nights at the Crystal Pier Hotel in Pacific Beach. She decided to let me accompany her on February 25 & 26, 2003.
Fresno & Kings Canyon - We needed to take the Sportsmobile to the Sportsmobile factory in Fresno, CA, about 350 miles north of San Diego, for some much-needed repairs. While the van was in the shop, we rented a car and drove around, ending up in Kings Canyon National Park, about 60 miles east of Fresno and several thousand feet higher.
South Carlsbad State Beach - March 11 & 12, 2003. We almost went to the desert but ended up at the beach instead. We camped high on a bluff overlooking the Pacific. The weather was perfect! Here we are toasting with our new heavy metal martini containers (can't really call them glasses).
Back Yard Flowers - March 29, 2003. Spring has sprung. The desert wildflowers are in full bloom. So is the backyard!
Hike to Ramona Overlook - April 10, 2003, Thursday, a good day to get out and go for a walk in the woods. OK, we don't have too many woods around here so we'll call it a walk in the chaparral.
Las Vegas and Mojave National Preserve - April 24 to 29, 2003. Read all about our annual pilgrimage to Las Vegas for the company golf tournament with a few stops thrown in.
San Elijo State Beach - May 12 to 15, 2003. The sound of the roaring surf, the call of the sea gulls, the majestic flight of the brown pelican, the blare of Amtrak's Surfliner Express warning its approach, the sound of traffic on Coast Highway - this place has it all. Memorial Day, May 26, 2003 - The traditional backyard bbq at Steve & Lynn Evers' house, featuring the new pool, Ashley and Sara, the cousins Nick and Chris, and mighty Gracie, the wonderdog. Click on Gracie's nose!
Laguna Recreation Area, Cleveland National Forest, June 10 & 11, 2003 - We had to find sun! June Gloom had us too gloomy so we headed east, beyond the reach of the deep marine layer gripping most of coastal San Diego County.
San Diego County Fair, June 18, 2003 - It had been a couple years since we visited "The Fair" (formerly the Del Mar Fair) so we thought it was about time to go again. Besides, we heard there were a lot of new kitchen gadgets for sale in the exhibit halls, so we just had to go check 'em out.
Scottish Highland Games, June 22, 2003 - The Gathering of the Clans took place in Vista, only a hope skip and rise up I-15 from Scripps Ranch, so we just HAD to go! The pipes the pipes were calling. So were the haggis and pasties and that good Scottish beer.
Charger Tailgate and Martini Feast, November 9, 2003 - The combined offices of Hunsaker and Associates invades Qualcomm parking lot for little tailgating and Martini sampling prior to the Charger/Viking game.
Iron Mountain hike, January 2, 2004 - My first hike in a while and my first trip up Iron Mountain since the fire.
Las Vegas and the All American Classic College All-Star Game! January 17, 2004. Sean McHugh, Penn State's MVP Senior fullback and his family invade Las Vegas! See photos and read all about it!
We've Moved! We sold our house in Scripps Ranch and have moved to Encinitas, near the beach, near restaurants, shops and bars! John & Janet visit! Ashley and Sara spend the night! Read all about it!
Williamsburg! March 9 to March 30, 2004. We took a three week trip to "the Burg" to visit with family and see the new house. Check it out!
Jon & Elise Hammond visit Jack & Lorri, April 9 to 17, 2004. We went to the Gaslamp, the Flower Fields, Old Town, the beach, and all the bars in between. Check out the photos!
Short Road Trip, April 26 to 29, 2004. San Diego to San Luis Obispo with a couple stops.
Padres Game Excursion, May 11, 2004. Jack & Lorri get a taste of the new ballpark as the Pads lose to Cincinnati, 6-3. Plenty of photos and exciting commentary!
Renaissance Pleasure Faire, May 22 & 23, 2004, Glen Helen Regional Park, San Bernardino, CA, two days of merry-making at SoCal's Elizabethan bacchanal.
San Diego County Fair, June 16, 2004, Del Mar Race Track, Del Mar, CA. See some photos of this year's version of the. The theme is "Seussational!", featuring the Cat in the Hat and various other Seussian characters.

Hawaii!! October 5th to the 14th, 2004, were spent on the Islands of Maui and Kauai, land of Luaus, mai tais, tropical sun and fun. We had a great time with some great friends. Check out the views, the ziplining, the tubing and the tropical ambiance!
Williamsburg, Virginia, November 17th to December 1, 2004, A two-week excursion "back east" takes Jack & Lorri to historic Colonial Williamsburg once again for a visit with family and some exciting sight-seeing!
