We signed the kids up for surf lessons with Kahuna Bob's surf school. They reported to the parking lot at Moonlight Beach where they found Kahuna Bob's colorful van full of surf boards and wetsuits.
After a trek down to the beach they received instructions on standing up and other fine points of the sport for about ten minutes, then went directly to the water. Michelle, Jake and Malarie are visible in the middle picture.

Malarie, the old pro (she went to surf camp two summers ago) was the first one up and Jake and Michelle followed shortly.
Mal, Michelle, Michelle, Mal. These photos are cropped to odd sizes and, I'm sorry to say, not very clear. I didn't want to get too far out in the surf and get my camera (or shorts) wet.
Here are some of photos Jake's surfing adventure.
All three kids up at the same time, a "party wave".
Mal & Michelle and Jake's board.
Later we went over to Escondido for a visit with Lorris' sister and her family and take a dip in their backyard pool.

Michelle, Jake, Malarie and Sara are enjoying the fresh, clear water.
Mike, Steve and Jack, then Lynn, Lorri and Jack, all in Evers back yard.
