St Louis, MO, to State College, PA
We left St. Louis on Wednesday, September 17, and headed across Illinois and Indiana on I-70.
Having nothing better to do, we continued our practice of taking lousy photos from our moving vehicle. Above is the Gateway Arch in St Louis.
This is a sign for the Terre Haute exit in Indiana. I guess I forgot to photograph something in Illinois. Maybe I didn't see anyting very interesting. Notice the bug splatters on the windshield. I wonder if any creative photographer has ever taken a super-slow motion video of a juicy bug hitting a windshield. It all happens so fast. First you catch a glimpse of a butterfly or bee and the next thing you know, it's a splat on your windshield.
Welcome to Indiana!
A farm. Seen one, seen 'em all.
Lorri driving.
Indianapolis.
Let's head toward Columbus, not Louisville.
Camping in Indiana somewhere. Not a good spot. The shower water smelled sort of like swamp water and the freeway was just a hop, skip and roar away.
Welcome to Ohio.
Welcome to Pennsylvania and Hurricane Isabel.
The main portion of the hurricane passed over us while we were sleeping, or trying to, in the van someplace west of Youngstown, OH, on Thursday night, September 18. We had a delightful drive in the rain across I-80 to State College the next day.
PA has cute little signs that say "BUCKLE UP NEXT MILLION MILES".
Finally, we approach our final destination, State College, PA, Happy Valley, Home of the Pennsylvania State University and the Nittany Lions!
