Penn State vs. Minnesota

Weekend of September 27, 2003

Coming off the victory over Kent State, we all were optimistic about the Nittany Lion's chances against Minnesota in their Big Ten opener.

This weekend at the McHugh house the guests, besides us, were Kevin, Jon & Elise Hammond, Eileen Kruczek,(Kevin's sister), and the senior McHughs, Jack & Ginny. Yes, another full house in town to root for their son, brother, brother-in-law, nephew or grandson, as the case may be, Sean McHugh, and the Lions.

Saturday was another great day for football. Here we all are at our morning tailgate party.

Saturday was another great day for tailgating too! Here are a few tailgaters with Beaver Stadium in the background. If you look closely at the upper right top of the stadium you can see the Nittany Lion weather vane. If you look at the photo below, taken from our seats, you will get an idea of how high up we were.

Sean had another great game but unfortunately the Lions lost, 20-14.

Among the 100,000 or so fans in attendance was a group of old (not really) Penn State alumni buddies from the Philadelphia area, including some of my Sigma Chi fraternity brothers, an old roommate or two and some good friends.

My good buddy and fraternity bro, Dick Anthony and me. Dick and I go way back and have been known on occasion to enjoy a martini or two together.
