The Wake

It was a cold and rainy night in southwest Ireland but the fire was roaring and the drinks were flowing at the Archway Tavern and all the suspects in the murder of poor Patrick Murphy were there to pay their respects except, I guess, the guilty party.

This is the front door of the Archway and a note about being closed to the public for the Wake.

Some people believe that the "wee folk" gather and dance hereabouts.

Patrick's ashes, according to his wishes, were placed in an empty bottle of Tullamore Dew and his friends (and the killer) all had a shot in his memory.

The Tavern was made ready and the mourners arrived. It may look a little sunny in old County Clare, but the storm was moving in!

From left to right: Deirdre, Father Kelly, Brian, Anne, Una, Bridgette, Colm & Liam

For a bunch of people trying to figure out who among them offed Mr. Murphy, they sure seem friendly.

As the clues mounted, so did the confusion. perhaps the wine had something to do with that.

Not one person guessed correctly who the guilty party was.

But, instead of carting her off to jail, it was decided that nobody liked Patrick anyway, and good riddance, and everyone lived happily ever after. Here's how:

Liam and Anne finally were able to be together with Patrick out of the way and the Archway Tavern thrived under their ownership, even without expanding.

Father Kelly left the priesthood and law enforcement and joined Deirdre in her tireless (though somewhat violent) crusade to protect the Little People of Ireland.

Bridget decided that she had enough of England and and left Colm for Brian and the exciting lifestyle of professional soccer, sort of like Posh Spice and David Beckham.

Colm, the successful British businessman and Una, the independently wealthy historian, found they shared a common interest in fine wine. Una's new mantra became "great wine collections are built one bottle at a time" and they spent their days traveling to the world's best wine regions in that pursuit.

Proof that the "wee folk" exist

Above are photos of some of the Pubs visited by Deirdre and the former Father Kelly in their travels on behalf of leprechauns and such. It was said that if your town had a good pub chances were that sooner or later  Deirdre and Father Kelly would show up and discover wee folk habitat in the vicinity.
