Jake & Mal 2

Friday found us up in Carlsbad near the Power Plant for a day of surfing and some instruction by our friend Greg whose surf board Mal is carrying below.

This was the only day during their stay that it stayed overcast most of the day, but we still had a great time!

Saturday at Evers:

We made the trek from Encinitas to Escondido on Saturday to spend some quality time with the Evers family.

Ashley and her friend were getting ready to attend an 80's party

Of course, Mal and Sara had to get into the act.

When we got back to Encinitas later, it seemed like it was very important to know how much our heads weighed, so we rested them on the scale to check. As it turns out. Mal's head weighed the most, Jake and I were in the middle and Lorri's didn't register. Hmmm...I wonder why?

On Sunday we went to the Artists' Street Fair in Carlsbad and had some lemonade.

Monday was another perfect beach day and Jake honed his skim board skills.

Later, Debbie's (my daughter) old friend Chad showed up along with his niece Kennah who is a year older than Mal and a friend from Baltimore. Chad lives in Laguna Beach and Kennah was visiting for a few days.

We had a nice time at the beach then regrouped and went to dinner in the Village

Tuesday was sort of a wind-down day. We went to the California Surf Museum, the pier and the "Top Gun House" all in Oceanside. The next morning we got up and 4:30 AM for the 7 AM flight to Baltimore...

It was a great visit, great times and great kids. We can't wait to do it again next year!
