Summer

What says summer more than BBQ ribs, corn on the cob and crispy potatoes?

OK, maybe a whole chicken on the rotisserie...

Or maybe grilled Polish with roasted potatoes, zucchini, and bell peppers
and onions.

One of our favorite San Diego Wineries was able to open with strict Covid
protocols in place. We enjoyed our 1-1/2 hour time allotment and a nice
bottle of white overlooking the vineyard.

Our backyard haven

Getting ready for dinner.

Dinner!

Our friends Doug and Karen and daughter Ava on their front porch. We had our
beach chairs on their front lawn and enjoyed a nice socially distanced
visit.

I did a portrait of my brother Bob sporting his Cabrini University garb.

Lamb chops, asparagus, potatoes, and sweet onion, all on the grill

The "H" stands for Hill

The stairs at Grandview

Our version of an excellent tapa we had ( a couple years ago) at a little
place in Logrono, in the Rioja area of Spain - garlic butter sautéed
mushrooms and shrimp on crusty bread. They taste better than they look!

Manila Clams (or are these cockles?) with linguine white wine sauce

June 30, 2020, a date which will live in infamy...

Deb and Mike were NOT here and we did NOT go to Bernardo Winery. The rumors
are not true!

And we did NOT have a really good paella.

For our 35th Wedding Anniversary we had lunch at Pacific Coast Grill.

We had a great table overlooking the beach and a great bottle of Champagne
courtesy of the Filling family.

And great desserts courtesy of PCG.

One of the highlights of summer in San Diego was the success of our San Diego
Padres. The Pads won more games than any team except the hated Dodgers and
Fernando Tatis, Jr. gained national attention with his exuberant style of
play.

While the weather was good and the days were longer we met with a few
friends for happy hour on a couple occasions at a local park. It will be
nice when we can gather at a local pub, for now, we're happy to see our
friends when and how we can.
