Las Vegas

Home Las Vegas Grand Canyon Sedona & More

The official excuse to go to Las Vegas was the annual Hunsaker & Associates "Ryder Cup" Golf Tournament, where the San Diego office and the Orange County office engage in a friendly golf match that has absolutely nothing to do with the actual Ryder Cup. This year the contest was won by the Orange County office. The San Diego office let them win because the winning team gets to stage the event next year. The Irvine office did such a fine job staging the event this year that the San Diego office saw no need to win the "Cup" back.

This is a photo of part of the front of the Flamingo Hilton where most of the Hunsaker golfers and guests stayed. Did anyone see Gladys Knight? Did anyone see the Pips? Does Gladys still have the Pips?

On the left are some of the San Diego players enjoying a ride to the course on a luxury bus which made many of the Orange County golfers envious. On the right are two Orange county golfers: Brad Hay, who went to Ohio State but otherwise is fairly normal, and Bruce Hunsaker, who drove up for the day from Lake Elsinor. He said the trip was just slightly longer than his daily commute the the office in Irvine.

On he left is Glenn-Bob Squatty-Body Showell in whose foursome I was honored to play. On the right, San Diego golfing legends, Donnie Broussard and Dave Hammar.

Note on golf: other than taking about 12 hours to play 18 holes in 400 mph winds, it sure was fun!

This is Lorri holding her ten $100 bills which she won by hitting a royal flush playing video poker! Luckily this was on Sunday evening after everybody else had left town so she didn't have to buy drinks and stuff for anybody except me.
