Topock, AZ

05 Lorri and Terri.jpg (37513 bytes)

Here's one of Lorri and her sister Terri, who for some unknown reason, lives in Topock, AZ, which for you geography buffs is just across the Colorado River from Snoopy's brother Spike's hometown of Needles, CA.

Fairfield Bay, AK

After 30 or 40 years, I thought it might be a nice idea to have a little visit with my Aunt Barbara & Uncle Jim in beautiful Fairfield Bay, Arkansas. We found them in good health on a bright Sunday morning on the shores of the beautiful and word famous Greer's Ferry Lake in central Arkansas. For you gregraphy buffs, that's kind of in the middle. We knew we had made friends (and came from the same family) when we sat in their living room and were offered a martini at high noon before going out to lunch! We had a great time "catching up" and touring Fairfield Bay.

Here we have Jack, Barbara, Jim & Lorri squinting into the sun. Was this before or after martinis?

St. Louis, MO

As I mentioned elsewhere in here somewhere, as long as we were in Paducah, why not visit Lorri's parents in St. Louis? What the heck, we needed to wash the van, wash clothes, defrost the refrigerator, recharge the batteries.... (hey, what's a parents' house for, anyway?) and besides, her dad makes and excellent grilled pork roast and is pretty handy with a filet too. Lorri's mom is an avid fan likes to watch the Cards on TV. Fortunately they weren't playing the Padres at the time so we didn't lose any money to her.

The Wedding

On June 16th, 2000, We were lucky enough to attend the wedding of my niece, Elise McHugh to all-around good guy, Jon Hammond. The wedding took place in Chagrin Falls, OH, just outside of Cleveland, and to the surprise of absolutely no one, it rained that evening! But that's a different story.

On the right is the wedding couple, Mr. and Mrs. Jon McHugh...er...I mean Hammond, along with the brides maids.

At the Reception

At the reception from left to right: 1. Mike Filling (son-in-law), Mary Lucey (sister), Edna Hill (niece), Debbie Filling (daughter) and yours truly (self). 2. Sean McHugh (nephew, now No. 82 for Penn State Nittany Lions) and Abbie (the bridesmaid, no relation). 3. Lorri and the Hammonds. 4. The proud parents of the bride, Kevin and Jeannie (sister) McHugh. I put their relationship to me in parentheses in case I come back to this page in the future and forget who all these people are.

The next night, the McHughs hosted a bonfire in their spacious back yard. It was a chance for all the family to get together and drink heavily one more time. Sorry to say, my photos from that day didn't come out very well so I'm substituting this 20 year old photo instead. It includes a lot of the same cast of characters and was taken on the occasion of the dual Christening of Stephen Lucey and Lauren McHugh.

That's it for the family photo page. I have plenty more family photos, but you know what they say....too much af a good thing....
