Barcelona Pinchos (Tapas) Tour
We met our group and tour guide near the University in the L'Eixample district and proceeded to visit four different bars in four different neighborhoods.

First stop

Starting with white wine (of course) from nearby Penedès

A veggie tapa! We could have used more veggies.

Shrimp

Um, I forget what this was but it was delicious

Next up in El Raval

A breakfast menu? What breakfast would be complete without a mojito or a tall glass of sangria?

Anyway, this guy was from Australia and that's Paul, our tour guide on the right.

White anchovies with olives! Mmmmm. Fish balls?

This type of pepper was very common. Most of them are mild and when they are fried like this with a little salt on top, they're really good.

This is in the courtyard of the St Felip Niri church and school. The chunks out of the wall were caused by shrapnel from a bombardment in 1938 when 42 people were killed, mostly children

This is our group, a young couple from Austin, and a couple from Newcastle, Australia, all fun people, except for Lorri. This is a test to see if she reads my stuff.

This place is in the Barri Gotic and it was excellent! Or maybe it was in El Call or the Jewish Quarter. It's not clear to me if the Jewish Quarter and El Call are the same. If not, they overlap.

We've gone from white wine and lighter fare to medium body reds with a little heartier tapas and now we're into some more intense reds and jamón and queso and so on.

Looks like sardines to me

Artist at work

Thank you Sant Josep! Your wine is good!

Catalan, Spanish and English. Good in any language.

Final stop for Cava and dessert

It was a great evening, very well done!
