Siurana
People said "Go to Siurana if you get a chance!" So we did.

We parked our Leon here.

The remains of the Moorish fortress which fell in 1153, the last Moorish stronghold in Catalonia. See below.

How do they know this?

The town sits behind this outcropping and to the left. On the right side you can see the outdoor area of a restaurant where we were.

Walking into the village

Need an extra room? Build across the street.

No cars in town except for locals.

That's the road we came up on

At the aforementioned restaurant

Another stairway to heaven

Surveyors are everywhere. Red Local means Local Network in Catalan. This was about where Lorri was standing in the photo above.

Here I am standing near it. It's probably visible from all of Priorat. Not so important in the days of GPS but I'm sure it came in handy in the past.

A very serene little town

Gato. Gat in Catalan.

Patatas Bravas = Spicy Potatoes

This was above a doorway. Don't know what it means but it looks like a puppet or some sort of doll. The door was closed.

The 12th century Romanesque church

900 years old?

Unbelievable

I wish we could have seen the interior

Like California, there appears to be a drought in Catalonia.

Building foundations continue out the little plateau

Don't know what was here, except Lorri.

Don't look down. Don't get close to the edge. Don't jump!

Water running. I was wondering how they got water 1,000 years ago.

Lorri taking a photo. Just kidding. Lorri never gets within 40 feet of any sort of ledge, drop-off, cliff or small incline.

Cornudella de Montsant is a small town on the way to Siurana.

We almost got trapped in this square when we inadvertently parked there not realizing it was a no-no. Luckily they were not quite finished installing the bollards and we escaped.
