Laguardia

We drove to Laguardia, a picturesque hill town, about 30 kilomenters from Logroño. Here is where we parked. You can see the Rioja wine vines covering the valley.

I think this translates to something like "Peace to those who come, health to those who stay, happiness to those who move on"

Strangest "Irish Tavern" we've found so far. Yes, thay had no Guinness!

The famous clock.

Lots of tourists here

A stork?

Big people

Big people before the party

Big people the next morning

Stork running from the bulls

Several tables were set in a similar fashion, waiting for the lunch crowd.

From the bell tower of the cathedral

The bell!

The skyline of Laguardia

Rioja valley

We were up there

a side street

A table full of footwear

a table full of bags

A picture is worth a thousand words...

a hotel on the edge of town

We almost went on a tour here

We would have but the only English-speaking tour guide didn't show up

What more does one need?

Nice colors

Laguardia is a walled city and much of the wall still exists

Another handy door knocker

Lorri exploring another side street

And another side street

This is a nice little park along the city wall

This is Lorri modeling her new purse she got for the trip. It has clip locks for the zippers, a steel reinforced shoulder strap and lining that prevents remote identity theft! It worked!

Great views from up here

"Hurry up! It's lunchtime!"

We didn't have lunch here

We had lunch here and it was great.

Here's the menu. Sorry I have no food photos. Hey look, Water, bread and wine were included! I had the chuleta de vaca, the cow chop, literally. It was a tasty beef steak. I think. I know it was tasty.

Another view as we headed back to the car.

Adios, Laguardia! What a fun little town!
